Pick each other
I’d already weaved twice to block his path,
so he could not walk from behind me,
to stand beside me,
as he said it.
But then he jumped through from behind
and as I reach the doorway,
he said it,
“We pick each other another time”.
And I walked through the doorway leaving him on the other side.
As I lay down to rest,
I knew that was fear in him
and
I took flight to the other shore
and knew he would make it to the other side.
